Description: Geology and hydrogeology study for the largest undeveloped island in the Caribbean to support humanitarian well drilling efforts. The island is known as the water poorest inhabited location in the world and one of the most difficult areas of Haiti to discover quality groundwater. Northwater performed field work in rugged, remote and challenging conditions and developed drilling program recommendations to improve success and prioritize water supply development efforts. Northwater also performed custom satellite terrain and remote sensing analysis to complement the field geologic mapping to site drilling locations and map potential aquifers. |
Associated Services:A watershed is a system of complex technical physical and ecological processes and a multi-disciplinary understanding of watersheds is required to address economic development, conservation and management of water and natural resources. To make things even more complicated, a watershed is also a social network of diverse stakeholders and communities that often have differing objectives and interests. |
