Illinois Hydraulic Fracturing Act (Notice 2)

Illinois Hydraulic Fracturing Regulatory Act (HFRA) Close to Adoption 

The Illinois HFRA appears to be inching closer to adoption after the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) posted the most recent edition of the act following the review of  30,000 comments (Notice 2).  If approved in its current form, the act will represent the nation’s strictest regulations for high-volume oil and gas drilling.  Northwater’s principals have been active in the legislative process and recently aligned with Prairie Analytical Systems to help the public and the industry understand the regulations.  An informational sheet relevant to the environmental and water resources components of the recent notice can be downloaded here: Illinois Hydraulic Fracturing Info
