Northwater performed storm-event water quality sampling and analysis at a facility located in Oglesby, Illinois, which was ramping up production and required a water discharge permit. The sampling was performed to achieve Illinois EPA (IEPA) permit compliance requirements for grab and flow-weighted conditions. Sampling required specialized equipment due to the complexity and access issues related to outlet structures. A precipitation-monitoring program was also executed to collect samples that achieved the IEPA requirements. The project required the ability to mobilize resources under time constraints and deliver services in challenging conditions. All work was completed on time and followed strict sampling and reporting guidelines.
The project included facilitation with the regulatory agency, storm event sampling and the preparation of a report and discharge calculations. The project was completed on time and within budget.
