Northwater worked on a team with Water Resources Solutions to produce a comprehensive watershed based plan for Spring Creek in Sedgwick County, Kansas near Wichita.  The project was funded by the City of Derby and Sedgwick County.

Northwater developed a custom map-based watershed model to quantify pollutant loading and runoff and applied it to identify over 50 site-specific projects to reduce loading and mitigate flooding.

A critical area analysis was also performed using GIS to identify areas in the watershed where project implementation would achieve the greatest flooding and water quality benefits; this was applied to prioritize project locations. Northwater also conducted a watershed characterization, produced custom GIS layers, prepared a water quality monitoring plan, and conducted model training.
