Mr. Bernasconi studied environmental engineering (BSc) at the University of Applied Sciences of Vaud (HEIG-VD), and recently earned his masters (MSc) in Hydrogeology and Geothermal Energy from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He led an integrated water resource management project while living in Nicaragua for the ministry of Environment (MARENA) which earned him professional and academic awards. Jonas’ masters thesis involved characterizing an alluvial aquifer in Switzerland and modeling the hydrodynamics, transport and fate of micropollutants in the aquifer.
Jonas is a Swiss national and is fluent in French, English and Spanish and offers a unique and valuable perspective having lived and worked in many countries spanning Central America, South America, Africa and Europe. He is actively engaged on projects in Haiti, Nicaragua, Africa, and the United States.
